Clothed N Strength has been a vision of mine since I left the Federal Detention Center in 2011. I made a promise to God that one day, if it’s His will, I would be in a position to help the women in prison. I met countless women from different backgrounds, with different stories, all leading them to incarceration. I also heard the despair, the sadness, the regret, and the hopelessness. Families gave up on them, no resources to climb out of the hole they were in behind bars and now free. These women lost their children, their homes, careers, jobs, and hope. But God has a plan. Clothed N Strength, with Gods guidance, will return the HOPE and CONFIDENCE that the plan is real. That they have a choice not to return to prison. They just need resources. Empathy. Help. I am here to help.

Shenae Christian is the founder of The Blue Elephant Project. She was a teen mom who contributes her success to the support of her family.  Her family provided her with a strong and consistent support system, and she believes everyone should have the same despite their circumstances in life. Working in Philadelphia, she would often see other young mothers struggling out in the cold or on the bus with their children. She was always thankful that her children did not have to be out in the cold because her mother stayed home to care for them.

Presently, she is committed to ensuring that every person has a strong support system like the one she was blessed to have.  She is a strong believer that everyone deserves shelter, food, clothing, and resources to help in times of need.

Shenae appreciates the synergies between Clothed N Strength and The Blue Elephant Project and is dedicated to working to progress both missions.
